What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help us provide you with a better experience by remembering your preferences and understanding how you use our site.

These are needed for the site to work or remember a choice you made, so they do not need your consent.

    Local storage. Remembers your cookie choices. Kept: Until you clear site data.

  • PARAGLIDE_LOCALE

    Cookie. Remembers your language. Kept: 400 days.

  • stay_session

    Cookie. Keeps staff signed in. Kept: 30 days.

  • stay_oauth_state

    Cookie. Protects staff sign-in with Google against forgery. Kept: 10 minutes.

  • theme, color-scheme

    Local storage. Remembers the appearance you chose. Kept: Until you clear site data.

Only if you accept

We may use PostHog, hosted in the EU (Frankfurt), to measure how the site is used, to collect reports of errors that break the page and, on the marketing site, staff pages and Stay admin pages, to record screen sessions with all text and form fields hidden. Stay switches each of these on or off separately, and the cookie banner only asks about what is switched on. Nothing below is stored on your device until you accept, and your choice applies only to the part of Stay where you made it (the website, the guest portal, the staff portal or Stay's admin pages). The guest portal and kiosk are never recorded, and a shared kiosk never stores a choice.

  • ph_<project key>_posthog

    Cookie and local storage. A random ID and session ID so PostHog can count visits and link the pages of one visit. Kept: 365 days.

  • ph_<project key>_*

    Session storage. Tells browser tabs apart within one visit. Kept: Until the tab is closed.

Until you accept, an error in your browser is only shown in its own console, and errors on our servers only go to our server logs. No error report is sent to PostHog.

Changing your mind

You can change your choice at any time, as easily as you made it. reopens the banner. You can also delete cookies and site data in your browser settings.
